Seize your Time!-FreaksTimer
FreaksTimer is a timer for geekers. It has two kinds of material: acrylic and wood. There are two inside digital tubes to display the remaining time. The rotary encoder is used for setup the time, when the time runs out with sound of tick-tock, the buzzer will be alarming. The maximum number that can be set is 99 minutes. It is very suitable for children education and help to achieve the purpose of edutainment during familiarizing mechanical assembly structure and connection. It’s affordable, simplified enough and easy to solder.
Timer the timing device is developed by ElecFreaks and completely open resources. Timer is made up of Nixie tube, buzzer, encoder and 8 LEDs, mainly powered by USB. Rotary encoder is used for adjusting the length of timing. As the Timer starts counting, 8 LEDs will be flickering in turn, every 0.5s seconds for lightening one with sound of tick-tock. Nixie tube is used for telling how much time that has left by Timer. When you push the button of coder, Timer will pause counting, by push the button again, counting will be continued; when the time is up, buzzer will be singing with the rhythm of 8 LEDs’ flickering. Timer is components suite, for DIY fans, they can learn about the principle of circuit and programming while enjoying the fun of assembling by their own hands. Besides, Timer is completely open resource; its function is not limited to above-mentioned effect, you can re-code it yourself, and make it be the one in your imagination. FreaksTimer project is open source. This means all of designs and codes, PCB schematic, are available for you in free. You can download, view , edit ,learn from all of the works that has been put into project. FreaksTimer is an Arduino compatible board with ATmega32U4, and you can program it by Arduino IDE. It’s a simple soldering kit and need to be assembled by yourself. There are two choices of assemble material, wood and acrylic. FreaksTimer is perfect for children and beginners to learn electronics, also could be a nice gift for Mom.
