Open Day was from 12th to 14th August. The full schedule for the Open Day was:

Part 1:  Maker Bar Introduction-15mins

Part 2:  Industrial Design & Makers-25mins

Part 3:  Open Source Hardware & Makers-25mins

We had a blast! Some guests were from Taiwan and US, and some were from Russia. Participants were ushered to their seat to get the idea of how Maker Bar works and how it may benefit the society.

People were enjoying the fun works. Look at this kid! Wasn't she adorable? She just couldn’t get her hands off the Makey Makey, playing Mario by tapping her friends’ arms.

The most fun part was drone assembly. Participants were divided into five groups to assemble ELF II VRDrone. Assembly was fun. Look how tense their expressions were.

As soon as they finished the assembly, though it’s really not a piece of cake, they tested its flying to see if it’s properly installed. Imagine their look when they first saw their DIY drone flying in the sky.

During the whole event, this TV reporter kept moving and angling the crowd. Great work done!

By the way, we want to make it a weekly event in the future, so Open Day could be a means to promote maker

education.

Just in case you’re in Shenzhen, you can take the metro to get off at Shenzhen University Metro Station, and walk straight about 200m, then take the first right turn into Keji Middle Third Road. Go along the road about 200m and you’ll see the Maker Bar on your left before the first traffic lights.
